Crispy Sausage Stuffed Olives

It’s so fun making and eating little finger foods for holidays. This olive appetizer is great for a New Year’s party or any time of the year. It says sophisticated but also fun and tasty! The sausage middles make the appetizer a little heartier too. My family enjoyed eating these and I actually wish I had made a few more!



  • 1/2 pound spicy chicken sausage
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 jar large pitted green olives
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • olive oil for frying



  1. Combine sausage, garlic, and pepper
  2. Stuff middle of olives with meat mixture
  3. Lay out flour, a scrambled egg, and bread crumbs in three separate bowls
  4. Cover the olives in flour, then egg, then bread crumbs making sure that the olives are covered fully and evenly IMG_1455.jpg
  5. Refrigerate the olives 10-15 minutes
  6. Pour olive oil three inches deep into a pan for frying
  7. When olive is hot enough drop olives in until they are golden brown
  8. Set aside on a paper towel and let excess oil drain off of olives
  9. Serve while still warm!
